Be An Elf - Gift a Teen

I DO Holiday Initiative

Target population: Lexington-Fayette County teens ages 13-18, from families experiencing financial hardship.

The Be an Elf project initiative is a project created by Partners for Youth with the support of City Council to fill in the gap for youth ineligible for existing holiday gift programs. Elves help Santa make Christmas for children a joyous and magical experience. The magic doesn’t stop once a child turns 13 years of age. Be an Elf asks families and individuals of Lexington and beyond to help make the holiday wishes of teens 13-18 come true. These youth are a part of families who are experiencing financial difficulties and are full-time students within the Fayette County School system. 18 year old youth are eligible as long as they are currently enrolled full-time within the FCPS school system and are unable to work a part-time job due to academics, sports, and/or have the responsibility of caring for siblings under 12 years of age.
